Recalled Milk Contaminated with Cleaning Liquid

Posted on September 30, 2011

The dairy company Parmalat has issued a recall for two different milk products after it was found the milk was contaminated with a cleaning liquid, according to recent news sources.

The products subject to recall are Pura 2 liter full cream milk and Daisy Fresh 3 liter full cream milk.

The milk products that are affected have been described as being yellowish in color. They come in plastic bottles and a use by date of October 12 is imprinted on them.

The cleaning liquid is a food-grade dairy caustic cleaning solution, according to the company. It may make the milk taste metallic or chemical taste.

No current illnesses or reactions have been reported. Those who purchased the milk are advised not to consume it. You can return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I have seen food recalls like this one and know that, with as much testing goes into food products before manufacturers send them to market, mistakes can still be made. Although the product defect lawyer at our law firm does not handle these type of cases there are food recall lawyers out there that can help you or a loved one if you have been affected by a recall such as this one.
