Woolworth’s Recalls Hot Water Bottles Over Burn Hazard

Posted on September 7, 2011

After receiving several customer complaints, Woolworths Holdings has removed the hot water bottles they’ve been selling since April 2011 from their shelves, according to news sources.

The complaints are regarding a leaking issue with the hot water bottles. One customer was injured and several others returned the product.

According to Woolworths director of clothing and general merchandise, “the safety of our customers is of utmost importance, and therefore we immediately initiated the recall. We know that [consumers] trust Woolworths for quality and would like to apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

The bottles subject to recall are labeled with numbers 501120262, 501120270 and 501120254, and barcodes 600910139792, 6009101397440, and 6009101147731.

If you have purchased one of these products, it is recommended that you stop using it and return it to your store of purchase to arrange for a full refund.
