Table saw safety is an issue in this country, with nearly 3,500 people in the United States losing a digit or worse to one every year, according to recent news sources.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is trying to implement new rules and regulations so that table saw could be made more safe for the consumers.

However, the SawStop would add an additional $100 to the price of a table saw, which is almost double the price of lower-end saws.
The government is currently in debate over whether the free market should be in charge of the issue or if this requires federal mandates.
