2,800 Motorcycles Recalled due to Fire Hazard

Posted on November 7, 2011

According to many news sources, Yamaha Motor Corp. has issued a recall for V Star 950 and V Star 950 tourer motorcycles. Models affected by this recent recall are from 2009 through 2012. Reports from the manufacturer state that fuel leaks allegedly present in the vehicles could pose a fire hazard posing as a health threat to the riders.

The proper seal that connects the fuel pipes to the fuel hose have shown signs of malfunction. The problem may lie in the connection between all of the pipes and an improperly molded fuel hose.

As stated by the article, 2,800 motorcycles are being recalled due to this issue. Motorcycle owners who have purchased any of these recalled items should contact Yamaha to have the fuel delivery pipe completely replaced free of charge as fast as possible. Do not ride the motorcycle again until it’s fully inspected and all problems corrected.

As a Los Angeles motorcycle accident lawyer I hope that nobody ever gets involved in an accident by riding any of these recalled bikes. I also urge all of those who unfortunately have been the victim of accidents related to defective products to call a personal injury lawyer as soon as the accident occurs.
