Frozen Chicken and Steak fajitas Recalled Due to Misbranding

Posted on November 3, 2011

According to different news sources, the Colorado based Phil’s Fresh Foods Inc. has issued a recall for over 15,000 pounds of steak fajita and frozen chicken due to a problem with the labeling of the products. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service was responsible for the statement. The products being recalled include  ‘Evol. Burritos Fire Grilled Chicken Fajita’, and ‘Evol. Burriots Fire Grilled Steak Fajita.’

The company has confirmed that because some of the chicken fajita packages may contain some steak, the recall issued was made necessary. The same happened with the steak packages and some might contain chicken. Those who are allergic to either type of meat could have a serious health issue by inadvertently consuming it.

The mistake was made public after an alleged consumer reported an allergic reaction related to the fajitas, which lead to the company running some tests and discovering what was the problem with the product.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I urge you to be alert when purchasing food products. Check the label and check the ingredients before you actually ingest anything. If you have purchased any of these products don’t hesitate in contacting the company for instructions on how to solve this problem. For any product liability issue, contact a product liability lawyer to help you with your case.
