According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 14,718 Nissan and Infinity vehicles after it was found that they were manufactured with sub-standard bolts connecting both the vehicles oil cooler with the oil filter, thereby posing possible oil leaks due to them breaking.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Nissan announced the recall of the Infinity SUV and sedan vehicles as well as Nissan SUV and commercial van vehicles due to the strength of the bolts used not complying with the specified standard, making them easier to break from the filter attachment part. Oil leaks can cause a significant loss of oil which in turn can increase the chances of the engine stopping and causing a potential crash, the NHTSA said.
