Bugaboo Bee Strollers Recalled Due To Faulty Locking Wheels

Posted on December 22, 2011

According to news sources, a total of about 7,260 Bugaboo Bee Strollers have been recalled due to injury or fall hazards arising from the front swivel wheels potentially locking, which can in turn cause the stroller to tip over.

The company, Bugaboo Americas, has announced the recall in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after it was found that the front wheels could inadvertently lock. The CPSC has reportedly received four reports of the stroller tipping over due to the wheels locking.

Two minor injury incidents have been reported due to the stroller occupant tipping over as a result of locked wheels, the CPSC said.

The strollers come in various colors and have the company name and address printed on the bottom of the seat. The recalled product has a retail price of about $650.

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the company at 800-460-2922 to receive free replacement wheels.
