Posted on December 27, 2011

According to news sources, about 13,000 units of the Navien Instantaneous water heater have been recalled due to a faulty connection of the vent collar that can detach when pressure is applied, causing potential carbon monoxide poisoning in the process.

The company, Navien America Inc., issued the recall in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after the problem was discovered. The recalled water heaters have a white color with “T-Creator” and “NAVIEN” printed on the front. The recalled product models are CR-180(A), CR-210(A), CR-240(A), CC-180(A), CC-210(A) and CC-240(A). All recalled models were manufactured in 2008.

There have been no reports of injury to date.
