Recall: Arctic Cat Snowmobiles Due To Crash Risks

Posted on December 15, 2011

According to news sources, about 7,100 units of Arctic Cat Snowmobiles have been recalled due to crash hazards arising from the headlamp fuse potentially failing, resulting in disorientation for the operator in limited visibility circumstances.

The company, Arctic Car Inc., has announced the voluntary recall after it discovered the faulty fuse during production testing. The headlamp failure can result in disorientation in limited visibility circumstances, potentially causing a crash.

There have been no reports of injuries to date.

The recalled snowmobile models include the 2012 F, XF, and M. Consumers can also identify the recalled snow mobiles through the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) found on the sides of hood. The VIN numbers are 105092 through 112175 or 800001 through 800033. The snowmobiles retail for about $10,500 to $13,000.

Consumers can contact the company at (800) 279-6851 to schedule a free repair.
