Toyota Sienna Vehicles Recalled Due To Mislabeled Load Capacity

Posted on December 2, 2011

According to news sources, Toyota is recalling about 210,000 Sienna vehicles due to issues relating to the mislabeling of the load capacity, resulting in its failure to comply with existing federal requirements.

The vehicles included in the recall have a model year 2011 through 2012. The recall was initiated due to failure to comply with federal requirements that state that a vehicles capacity weight be displayed on a vehicle placard as a combination of both cargo and occupants. Incorrect information pertaining to the vehicle load can cause overloading the tires which increases the risk of an accident.

Consumers with the recalled vehicles will be able to receive the correct placard and a revised owner manual free of charge and should contact the company at 800-331-4331 for more information.
