Recall: Spectrum Home Furnishings Chandeliers Due to Injury Hazard

Posted on February 8, 2012

According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 165 units of Spectrum Home Furnishings Crystal Chandeliers after it was found that they could potentially fall from the ceiling due to a faulty mounting loop.

The company announced the recall of the chandeliers due to the possibility of the mounting loop failing and thus causing the chandeliers to fall and injure bystanders. There have been no reports of injury to date, however property damage in excess of $1,000 has been reported due to falling chandeliers. In total, five reports of the chandelier falling have been received by the company. The model numbers of the recalled chandeliers are a83-21502/36+1, a83-1502/36+1 and a46-490/30.

Consumers should contact the company directly at (800) 524-1539 for a free replacement and a total of $175 to cover replacement costs and an incentive credit.
