Details About the Crash
At 8:41 a.m. on Monday, June 27th, 2022, a big rig collided with an LADOT bus on E. Imperial Highway between Douglas Street and Aviation Boulevard. The impact caused the bus to flip onto its side, leaving at least 20 injured. Three people are in critical condition, one of whom was the driver of the big rig truck. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment.
The El Segundo Police Department is currently investigating the crash and it has yet to be determined what exactly caused the crash.
How an Attorney Can Help
While buses are among the safest forms of transportation in California when collisions do occur, they typically result in injury to many people. When a large commercial truck is involved, the potential for serious injury or death is even greater. Currently, the investigation is ongoing and 20 people have been left with real injuries that can significantly impact their lives. This includes:
- Medical treatment for their injuries
- Potential future medical expenses
- Lost wages from missed work
- Pain and suffering
- And more
As bus passengers were injured through no fault of their own, they are eligible to recover compensation to cover these losses.
At Panish | Shea | Boyle | Ravipudi LLP, our attorneys understand how to handle complex personal injury cases and have significant success on behalf of our clients. This case may involve liability on behalf of the trucking company, the owner and operator of the LADOT bus (in this case the City of Los Angeles), other motorists, or even vehicle or parts manufacturers. Our attorneys have handled numerous cases involving all of these entities, including five verdicts in excess of $12 million dollars in cases involving truck accidents.
We have the skills, experience, and resources to take on any defendant, no matter how large. We also understand how important each case is and that our clients only have one chance at a full and fair recovery.
