Maria Blanco

Maria Blanco is a trial attorney at Panish | Shea | Boyle | Ravipudi LLP and focuses her practice on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases in California. She is passionate about serving her clients and dedicates herself to ensuring they receive the maximum recovery available to them.

Currently, Ms. Blanco is working alongside firm attorney Jesse Creed on behalf of plaintiffs in the Southern California Gas Leak Cases litigation. Plaintiffs allege they suffered personal injury and property damage after one of Southern California Gas Company’s negligently maintained underground, natural gas storage wells failed in 2015 and released nearly 100,000 tons of methane and other substances into the atmosphere over 118 days.

In 2021, SoCal Gas agreed to pay up to $1.8 billion to settle the claims of over 35,000 victims of the biggest natural gas leak in U.S. history.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Blanco worked at a non-profit organization providing free legal representation to parents as defense counsel in dependency proceedings. As a trial attorney, she has been on numerous cases involving complex injuries to minors, requiring expert testimony. In her previous role, Ms. Blanco went head-to-head against the County of Los Angeles to bring justice to countless families. Though her legal experience has been largely in the public interest sector, her dedication and her unwavering resolve to bring justice to an aggrieved party will serve her well on this new career path.

Ms. Blanco received her J.D. from Southwestern Law School and is a member of the State Bar of California.
